At the 20+ kV voltage class, this dry-type transformer relies on the same cast-resin epoxy insulation system that defines Spectrum Industries' dry-type line: a high-quality protective resin cover fully encapsulating the winding surface. Because epoxy resin functions as an insulating glue, the coil and cover form a single, solid protective structure rather than separate layered components, giving the transformer stable dielectric performance suited to medium-voltage distribution work.
This higher voltage class is particularly well-suited to sites where load demands exceed what a standard 6+kV unit can support, without requiring the additional oil-handling infrastructure that liquid-filled transformers of similar capacity would need.
