Overview
The 35+kV dry-type transformer uses the same cast resin epoxy insulation system found across Spectrum Industries' dry-type line: a high-quality protective resin cover fully encapsulating the winding surface. Because the epoxy resin serves as an insulating glue, the finished coil and cover form a single, solid protective structure, giving the transformer the dielectric strength needed to operate reliably at higher voltage levels.
At this voltage class, cast resin construction offers a distinct advantage over oil-filled alternatives of comparable rating: no oil containment, no risk of leaks, and no added fire-suppression infrastructure. The insulation remains unaffected by dust, humidity, and other harsh site conditions, making this transformer well-suited to industrial plants, substations, and large commercial facilities operating at 35+kV where higher capacity and environmental resilience are both required.
Manufacturing at this voltage class follows the same vacuum-state resin casting process used throughout the line, relying on specialized molds and casting equipment to fully encapsulate the coil without voids in the epoxy insulation.
