Heavy-Duty Battery Disconnect Switch

This line of battery disconnect switches is engineered for high-current DC power isolation in transportation, marine, and heavy equipment applications. Available in two configurations — a continuous-duty switch and a disconnect variant — each unit handles either 200 or 300 amps of continuous current at working voltages up to 48VDC. Sealed to IP67 and SAE J1455 standards, these battery switches remain fully operational in harsh environmental conditions including moisture, dust, road spray, and temperature swings from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius.

Both variants share a robust barrier-isolated terminal design with 1,100-volt dielectric withstanding and greater than 100 megohms of minimum insulation resistance. The continuous-duty switch uses silver-alloy contacts rated for 10,000 full make/break cycles under load, ideal for applications where the switch is regularly cycled. The disconnect variant uses copper contacts and delivers 25,000 mechanical cycles with a lower number of full-load operations — well-suited for emergency disconnect duty on vehicle main power circuits. Voltage drop across contacts stays under 150 millivolts, minimizing power loss in high-current battery cable runs.

Panel-mounted through a 3/4-inch bushing with 18 ft-lb mounting torque and 13 ft-lb terminal torque, this battery disconnect integrates cleanly into engine compartments, battery boxes, and switchgear panels. A lockable version is available for equipment requiring lock-out/tag-out compliance during maintenance. Typical deployments include construction equipment, class-8 trucks, agricultural machinery, buses, boats, and industrial mobile equipment where a positive means of isolating battery power is required for safety, service, or storage.
