Lockable Battery Disconnect Switch

This lockable battery disconnect combines the rugged high-current DC power isolation of a heavy-duty battery switch with an integral padlock provision for lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) compliance. Ideal for shared-fleet transportation, marine, agricultural, and heavy-equipment applications where service work requires certified isolation of the battery power supply, this disconnect accepts a standard padlock shackle in the OFF position — providing OSHA-compliant lockable isolation without a separate lockable enclosure or additional hardware.

Available in switch (502S) and disconnect (502D) configurations at 200 amp or 300 amp continuous ratings with working voltages up to 48 VDC. The 502S uses silver-alloy contacts for 10,000 full make/break cycles under load, while the 502D uses copper contacts for 25,000 mechanical cycles suited to emergency-only isolation duty. Both variants meet SAE J1171 Marine and ISO 8846 Marine external ignition protection requirements, making them suitable for boats, engine compartments with fuel systems, and other spark-sensitive installations. Sealed to IP67 and SAE J1455 for water, dust, shock, and vibration resistance, this disconnect operates reliably across a -40 to +85 degree Celsius temperature range.

Barrier-isolated terminals with 1,100-volt dielectric withstanding and greater than 100 megohms of insulation resistance keep the terminals safe in exposed installations. Voltage drop across contacts stays under 150 millivolts to minimize power loss. Panel-mounted through a 3/4-inch bushing with 18 ft-lb mounting torque and 13 ft-lb terminal torque, this lockable disconnect integrates cleanly into engine compartments, battery boxes, switchgear panels, and dashboards where lockable battery isolation is required for service, storage, or safety compliance.
