Circuit Breaker Control Switch

This circuit breaker control switch is a heavy-duty rotary switch designed for the manual operation of medium- and low-voltage power circuit breakers in industrial switchgear, substation, and utility panelboards. Traditionally driven by a pistol-grip handle, the switch provides trip and close functions via spring-return contacts that momentarily complete the circuit to the breaker's trip or close coils. A modular deck construction allows multiple contact configurations to be stacked in a single unit, supporting local indication, remote status, interlock, and auxiliary control functions on one panel operator.

Continuous current rating is 30 amperes at 600 VAC, with UL interrupt ratings of 25A at 120VAC, 15A at 240VAC, 6A at 600VAC, 3A at 125VDC, and 1A at 250VDC. Overload capacity supports 95A at 120VAC over 50 operations. Contact resistance is specified at 10 milliohms maximum. Both non-shorting (break-before-make) and shorting (make-before-break) contact configurations are available, along with standard and slip contact options for specialized sequencing. Rotor contacts use phosphor bronze dual-wiper construction, and stationary contacts are silver-plated copper with integral screw terminals.

Panel-mounted with a 3.25-inch cutout and 7.13-inch depth behind panel, this switch is a direct replacement for legacy control switches and shares its mounting pattern with control switch relays (CSR), lock-out relays (LOR), and latching switch relays (LSR) for interchangeable panel layouts. Typical applications include substation control panels, industrial motor control centers, utility switchboards, generator sets, and any installation where reliable manual control of a power circuit breaker is required alongside remote SCADA operation.
